And So On

I know it's not quite time yet, and I know I usually try to keep these things quiet before Mom sees them in person, but I'm just so pleased with this little hat that I had to show you today. To give you an idea of scale, a film canister fits perfectly inside the hat and helps it keep its shape. And who knew scrapbooking was such a helpful hobby? The little stars are actually scrapbooking brads that couldn't be a more perfect size. The shell is finished, too, but I will keep that secret until closer to Independence Day.

The June sock trudges on. I have three more (9 row) pattern repeats before I can decrease for the toe.

You've heard of a bad hair day, well, today was a bad head day, but I still wanted you to see what I accomplished over the weekend. I know you know that sleeve #2 is harder than sock #2, but it's finished AND seamed to the sweater AND the stitches have been picked up for the hood AND I've already knitted about a fourth of the hood. After it's done, all that's left are the button bands. Is it cold out yet?

Every so often I get brave enough to give my cats flea baths. Tonight was one such night and I have the battlescars to prove it. Since I'd completely betrayed her, I couldn't get Chaka to look at me, but here she is in the afterbath. Does anybody out there have cats that enjoy a nice scrub in the tub?

And since I know how much you all love my jokes:

Did you hear about the cat who swallowed a ball of wool?

She had mittens.

The sweater looks wonderful. You are a brave women to do the flea bath on your own. Love the socks you have in progress in the previous posts.

WOW! The sweater looks GREAT! I can't wait to see the finished product. You're SO my hero -- a full-sized sweater almost done!

I've done flea baths by myself. A kiddie pool outside worked really well -- I didn't worry about getting water and soap everywhere. But it's hilarious to see my cat soaking wet -- she is skinny under all her fur and looks rather ferret-like when wet!

Hi :) I found you via the Yarn Harlot. Thought I'd say hi and no, no cat likes a flea bath! One of mine likes to sleep in the sink when it's wet, but that's about as far as it gets. I recommend some Frontline, it takes two seconds to put on and you get fewer battle scars.

I really like that sweater! Unfortunately not going to be cold for a while :)

Your sweater looks great! I've been looking for a nice cardigan pattern and that one keep calling to me. I'm sure you can't wait until it's finished (even though it's kinda warm out....)!

OMG - the Knit Knack hat is too cool! I can't wait to see him in his July 4th gear!

Funny joke! Love that shade of green, also. I ran across the BEST cat washing aid. It's a mesh bag - kind of like a lingerie bag -with a drawstring. You put the cat in it and draw the string around its neck so only its head is sticking out. Then, you bathe the cat - flip it this way and that - rinse - etc. SO easy! The trick is - the bag has to be a little snug so the cat can't move its legs while bathing. My cat's legs are usually kind of tucked. I think they'd be easy to make if you can't find one. If I ever have to have another one, I'm going to buy a lingerie bag, cut it in half, seam it up, fold over for a casing and add a drawstring.

My cats hate bathing too

The funny thing is, they will hold completely still and let me do anythin I am up to till it's done.
But the looks they give me..
I tell you if looks could kill, I'd die a thousand horrible and very slow deaths...
And I will be ignored for at least two days after..

Ha, that will teach me ^^
