I'm Glad I Wasn't 30 In the 80's

Dudes. I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while. But the following should keep you going until I can make another substantial post.

Last Saturday I went to a kickin' 80's party hosted by my good friend Leslie and her husband. Shockingly, I won the best overall costume. Yikes.

Yes, Leslie can flashdance.

Yes, I made that vest. Thankfully no one ever actually wore it in the 80's.

Yes, I pegged my pants. In fact, everyone at the party who was wearing pants pegged them.

Hannibal Smith, Roscoe P. Coletrain, and Tootie from Facts of Life all made an appearance.

Yes, those are pink feather earrings.

Yes, that is my real hair.

Yes, a great majority of the females in attendance had side ponytails.

Side ponytails rule.

A treatise on socks on two circulars is coming soon.

So where was the Karate Kid, Michael Jackson, and Angela Lansbury?

LMAO!!! You all look so stylish. Anyone where the fake leather zipper covered Michael Jackson inspired coat?

The 80s look good on you! No one can pull of a side ponytail like you. My personal favorite hairstyle was the french braid done with hair elastics instead of actually braiding the hair. Genius!

The funny part? We actually thought we looked good with those ripped sweatshirts and tights and bangles up to our elbows. I wonder if in 20 years teenagers will think, "Why the cr#p didn't I pull my pants up?"

You just made my whole day. I LOVE those pics and am so glad you decided to post them!

My favorite thing to do in the 80s was to layer my socks -- 2 colors minimum scrunched on my legs.
